The True Christmas Gift

You know, God has gifted me with this incredible ability to create poetry at the drop of a hat.  It may have taken this long, but I feel so strongly that His true intent for ths gift was to write these poems of praise and worship.  Only since coming into his house at NHC has this finally come to light.  It started from the poem turned rap after my Baptism, to the random poems I create out of the blue wether inspired by one the church Message Series (i.e. Tempted, Baggage…) or just…well inspired from wherever God pulls them from and puts them in me.  I mean, I’ve always been, in my younger years, a “rapper” and have always been able to create poetry usually inspired by friendships, loss and such.  But I am almost amazed at myself at how quickly and easily I can put out a poem or a rap that comes from within my Faith. While poetry has always been easy for me…it really seems that Faith inspired poetry comes out at hyper speed.  And hey…I like it.  I know that is truly just Him working through me.  And I can only pray that I will be the instrument that He wants me to be to the best of my ability.

When I sent the Baptism poem (turned rap) to the worship leader…I believe that is what God willed me to do.  All that transpired from the click that sent that e-mail to the stage at NHC I know was what HE wanted.  And the feedback from people in the church that day after the rap and the message it sent gave me a feeling like no other.  That it moved someone to tears (BOTH times she told me), reached out to youth and that the actual words that were heard put me on a spiritual high like…WHOA!

Anyway my gift has been put to work again in the name of Jesus and well if you want to hear you will have to come to NHC for the December 23rd service.  I hope it will serve it’s purpose and remind people what the true meaning of Christmas is.  It’s so easy to get lost in presents and shopping and the novelty of Christmas….that I think people forget to stop and worship and praise God’s gift to us…  His son, who would be the saviour to us all.  And that in itself was God’s gift to us all and what we should be most thankful for this Christmas and every Christmas.
