It’s Friday!

Having a few peeps over for a little fire, going to make some chili - taquitos and whatever else I can think of and just hang out and catch up. Taira has a friend spending the night, too and a couple of other kids are coming, too so everyone will be content. When they get tired of the fire they can retire to the living room or my room and watch a movie.
Oh - before I forget…it’s Baptism weekend at NHC - so if you have been putting off your next step I say….DO IT! You have three opportunities. Saturday 6:30PM, Sunday 9:30AM and Sunday 11:30AM. So what’s your excuse? Surely it’s not “I don’t have time”. What? You don’t have time to publicly express that you are a Christ follower? What are you ashamed of? Yeah…I’m calling you out. So think about it…this is the next step in proclaiming your faith if you’ve accepted Christ into your heart. And remember - if you were Christened, dedicated, Baptized…whatever…as a baby…that doesn’t really count. This needs to be YOUR thought out and accepted decision…not your parents or anyone else’s. Pray on it…and I’m pretty sure God will tell you to DO IT!
Anyway, just some random thoughts. No real pattern to any of this as you can see. I’m feeling pretty content with my life this week. Things are…well things are warm and fuzzy. They haven’t been warm and fuzzy in quite awhile. But it’s about time God threw a little warm and fuzzy back into my life. Some of you totally understand the warm and fuzzy and let me just say…yes it’s ALL GOOD!
Have a couple of kids coming to ride in the morning on the trail, then a couple of lessons in the late morning. Probably going to get hay at some point. And then Sunday there will be more riding. (Weather permitting of course…but I don’t see anything drastic preventing it at this point so hey! It’s on!) Ssssh…don’t tell the horses! Let it be a surprise! HA HA HA!
Hmm…what should I blog now? How about some prayer requests?
Pray for some sick friends.
Adam’s been a bit under the weather this week.
Dougie is under the weather.
Effective last night and this morning I’ve got a head cold thing coming on…but it won’t stop me from burning something tonight. Ha ha! But anyway say a few prayers for them.
Pray for a friend of mine who lost her job today. Good news is…God already set up a job interview for her on Monday. Now she just needs to acknowledge that GOD is at the head of the ship. So pray for that, too.
A couple of youth struck a negative cord with me this week and the answer to that is to pray for them.
So pray for them to open their hearts and minds to ministerring to their peers and to remember…it’s not about them it’s about HIM.
Pray for Evan Bonds. (He is a youth who has been diagnosed with leukemia in case you missed that post.). He is having a rough time this week and is sick. He was able to attend his benefit fundraiser last Saturday, but now he’s udner the weather and currently at Moses Cone Emergency Room for tests and such. Pray that it’s just a bout that he will get over and that it is definitely NOT pneumonia. Tthey are awaiting some chest X-ray readings. So just pray for God to be with that family through this so they will continue to praise Him in this storm and pray for him to be merciful in bringing Evan through his sickness.
Oh yeah - pray for the Country and the transition of leadership. Some cool youth group peeps even asked for that in prayer requests this week. They got their heads on straight for sure! So please pray for the safety of the President Elect Barack Obama and that God will guide him in his new position. History has been made…but we have to help in the prayer department that the result of history being made is very positive for the country. There so much negative surrounding the election so pray for people to support the new president no matter who they voted for and for what reason.
Okay…enough prayers!
We are going to see Madagascar 2 on Sunday. I don’t know about you I am so excited. I like to move it…move it! There better be an equally catching and entertaining song in THIS one, too and funny sayings I can quote for the next 6 months. I know it’s going to be totally enertaining. Ha ha! Did I mention I only had Taira so I had an excuse to see animated movies! HA HA HA! Oh yeah…and to be able to go toy shopping. “Oh I…I mean Taira…would really like to have this!” HA HA HA! Just kidding…sort of.
I need to perk up. COFFEE??? Got to drop of a Blockbuster movie on the way home and stop at the pharmacy. (probably not in that order). Check this out - I turned in the Blockbuster card I’ve been using AND paid the whopping $1.98 in late fees that I owed on it. The card was not in my name and while I could have probably kept using it…I decided it was time to fly the nest. Despite friends’ genius ideas to rent bunches of movies and not turn them in since that card was not mine. Nah - I’m past all that. Don’t have it in me. So I turned it in, watched them cut it up and got my OWN account. SO THERE! So what…I’m still a rockstar…I got my rock moves…and I don’t need you! And guess what? They gave me a rent one …rent one free for being law enforcement. (How cool is that? 2 new releases for the price of one).
I’m sure you just read this blog post and thought..”that post had absolutely no real rhyme, reason or rhythmic flow”. Hey…it’s Friday! Who cares? You got the point right? Have a great weekend!
One more thing! Hot dogs get a bad rap…
